I love Damien Hirst!
Here is a real artist!!! not many of em in this world, sure he may have some commercialism in some of his work... but check your head if thats a problem for you, because the art wolrd is an INDUSTRY! to all the people who think art should be pure and authentic, go fuk yourselves!!!! you are a bunch of wankers who haven't got one ounce of purity within you, you think your idea of purity is enough for you to be high and mighty.
Take a good look at Hirst and you will see a man taking the biggest risk of his life, he isn't content to keep making millions and millions from the same old shit! he is willing to risk it all in order to follow his creative nature... who else have you seen with the guts to do such a thing these days? Picasso was defintaley one who did the same, and Warhol, but now??? I take my hat off to Hirst... and I am sure that even though your painting has a while to go before it's really you, I have no doubt that you will make it, to show us in the world soemthing great in painting also!

I can't help but sense great deal of jealousy towards Damien Hirst. Yes he may have been in the right place at the right time, yet he played the game very well. Congratulations is what I would say and I find his intentions towards a new direction quite welcoming. Though I feel he has a great challenge in-front of him that may even draw him into diving into the depths of one of his new paintings. God forbid. Look Hirst is Hirst and you have to love him for it as I know many in his position would have buckled moons ago.

He talks so much about his admiration for Francis Bacon standing out on the edge well guess what! So is he! And I would rather not be on that edge. Bring back the beauty and stop grappling with the dark side as it can only lead to doom! Though doom in this day and age has rather a big audience which is worrying don't you think?

Damien! Enjoy the new found direction towards painting as it can only offer greater satisfaction taking on and overcoming new challenges.

Love Him, Hate Him, Worship Him or Despise Him, Damien Hirst has a quality and individuality of great intrigue and his work will stick around for some time yet! For good or for bad? Who knows?

Who has the last laugh and who laughs loudest?

GOD KNOWS!

Hockney is right, Damien. You are now on Painting's turf, and you'll see that there's no where to hide. Hopefully, your collectors heard your resounding "So, long, suckers!" and will someday unload all the crap you sold them. And by all means, enjoy all that money which you say sickens you. But you will never make a good painting.
Alexander, journalism merits an open mind, but here you're gullible.

You can talk and dance around the issue of money all you want but it doesn't make any difference in your case (Hirst) as any loaded fool will buy anything you make for sick amounts of money.

But more importantly your new paintings ARE poor re-hash's of Francis Bacon's work.

It's your demeanor, sheer luck in timing when you came up with your original ideas which we're at least interesting and vulgarity which have got you where you are today.

Your the laughing stock of half of the art world, and I don't just mean the old-fashioned and traditionally narrow minded number. I've barely met an art student from a multitude of persuasions who think anything of your work and think even less of your personality.

We beg of you to disappear from the media and go spend your millions in peace.

P.S. You mean there will be no more sbots?! Christ what will we do.

<blockquote>"<strong>Alexander Boldizar and Damien Hirst in conversation</strong></a>

Recently published in C-Arts magazine, Boldizar’s extensive interview with Hirst in Bali opens several conversations on his blue paintings, money, power and death. Read it here.</blockquote>
